It has been a few weeks since we hosted our first Pop-Up dinner on December 22, 2015 at Look About Lodge in the South Chagrin Reservation and we have to admit, we are still smiling from such a lovely evening. We could not have been more pleased with the outcome! The meal, our partners, the staff, the location, everything came together for a night full warmth and comfort.
Here was the menu for the evening:
Apple Wood Smoked Beet Stacks with Pistachio Butter, Whipped MacKenzie Creamery Goat Cheese Citrus Drizzle Crushed Pistachios
Butter Lettuce with Cara Cara Orange & Grapefruit Segments, Calvastrano Olives, And Dates tossed in a Black Pepper and Honey Vinaigrette
Red Wine Braised Beef Short Ribs with Wilted Lacinato Kale, Tomato Confit and Creamy Parmesan Polenta
Meyer Lemon and Dark Chocolate Tart
The hand pounded copper bowls from our lovely partner, Liza Michelle Jewelry. Her new line of housewares is really just beautiful.
The menus and place cards were done by With Love & Whimsy.
The evening storytelling of was led by David Sabol of TOLD CLE. All of the guests commented on how the storytelling portion of the night was such a unique and fun way to engage with the other guests. We hope to partner with them again in this coming year. You can find the listing of their events on their website. Be sure to check the calendar for upcoming events.
Apple Wood Smoked Beet Stacks with Pistachio Butter, Whipped MacKenzie Creamery Goat Cheese and Citrus Drizzle. We should have made more of these! Guests have since reached out to us for the recipe.
The evening was a huge success. We thank our partners for the event: Knotty Pine Photography, Told CLE, With Love & Whimsy, Liza Michelle Jewelry and Early Bird Brewery . And, of course, our amazing staff! We could not have not done it without each and every one of them! Our full lineup of Pup-Up Dinners and Workshops for 2016 will be released in the weeks to come. We have a great year planned and can’t wait to share with you.
