2016 Pop Up Dinner Series: ONE Fount Studio

It was a lovely celebration of winter and creativity. The Cleveland FIeld Kitchen Pop Up Dinner Series, DINNER ONE took place in the Artcraft Building at the studio of Fount Leather in Cleveland just two weeks ago.  Surrounded by stacks of smoky brunette rolls of Italian leather, organized barrels of scrap, tidy sewing machines, and a view that over-looked the beauty of the Cleveland landscape. The light was dreamy, the table was long. It was a chance to gather many familiar faces as well as have the pleasure to hear couple ( in life and in business) Jackie and Philip Watcher share the story of their journey with FOUNT.  Wine was flowing freely and the conversation was plenty.

For DINNER ONE, our inspiration for the table and décor was centered around the white of winter (though we were a little short on the white snow that is usual for that time of year) and materials from the studio. Jen, from our design team, was able to create a hanging fern installation that draped over sections of the table.  This eye catching yet simple detail was probably a favorite design component of the evening. Well the design and the food, of course. The pops of green life perfectly contrasted the shades of brown leather and white of FOUNT studio.  We used Italian leather scraps, cut both geometrically and organically, which we clustered together along the table.  The leather clusters served as a base for brass candleholders that gave off glimmers of light, making the table more intimate and warm.

As the evening continued, guests sat at their designated seats with leather strapped napkins and enjoyed the meal that our chef, Kelli Hanley-Potts prepared.  Our pop up dinners are four course meals that have been carefully paired with wines and because the menu was inspired by the white of winter, we served all white wines for each course.
